How do we collect membership dues with Octo?
Dues are collected inside your association's own app: members pay via QR code or the in-app payment screen, automatic reminders go out before and after the due date, and you see who has paid from a single dashboard in real time. The payment step runs through integrations with licensed providers and bank virtual POS gateways; the commission rate depends on the provider and plan you choose. The spreadsheet and the manual reminder round disappear.
Is the app published under our own association name and logo?
Yes. Your members find your association's name and logo on the App Store and Google Play and download "your app" — Octo stays in the background. The name, colors and content structure are yours.
How do we move our existing member list and WhatsApp groups?
Member lists are imported in bulk via CSV, including contact details, committee and sub-group structure, and tags. Your WhatsApp groups are replaced by in-app groups and targeted notifications, so announcements no longer get lost in a chat feed. We train your team during onboarding.
How long does setup take, and do we need an IT team?
No technical team is needed. Once we have your logo and association name, the web version is ready in 3 steps, and your branded mobile app is submitted to the App Store and Google Play — sometimes the same day, and live within a week at the latest.
How do we spot members who stop paying or start drifting away?
The dashboard shows each member's payment status and engagement score: who is active, who has not opened the app in a long time, whose dues are overdue. You can send an automatic reminder to a member who has gone quiet, and write only to the relevant segment instead of messaging everyone.
Can we run general assemblies, votes and event registrations in the app?
Yes. Event announcements, registration and ticketing, surveys and votes, and form collection are all part of the app. Attendee lists and responses gather in one place and reminders go out automatically, so far fewer seats stay empty than with email-only announcements.
Where is our member data stored, and who can see it?
Data is stored on GDPR-aligned infrastructure with encrypted communication and role-based access control — you decide which board member or administrator can see what. For organizations that need to host data on their own servers, an on-premise option is available.
