Building my dream product
took weeks, not months.
Mamity set out to provide Turkish mothers with expert consultations, community support, and a gamified ecosystem — all in one app. Building it from scratch would have been a massive technical burden. Octo took that weight off our shoulders.
The vision was big.
The road looked long.
When we first designed Mamity, we had a clear vision: a mother-to-mother support community, live expert consultations, events, surveys, mood tracking, premium paid groups, a dual-currency economy (Points + Coins), gamification, brand partnerships, and detailed admin panels.
Building all of this from scratch meant months of backend architecture, data modeling, permission management, content moderation tools, and dozens of core modules. With a seven-person team, this roadmap could have delayed getting to market by one to two years.
What we discovered at Octo: every module we needed was already built.
The very first day we started exploring Octo, we realized that nearly all the core modules we would have spent months building were working out of the box. All we had to do was configure them to match the spirit of our product.
Group management
Age-based (0-3, 3-6) and topic-based groups were structurally supported.
Content & events
Posts, likes, comments, event types, and attendance tracking worked out of the box.
Surveys & mood monitor
We found a ready-made infrastructure for tracking mothers' emotional wellbeing.
Paid features
Packages, payment settings, paid groups — the backbone of our Coin economy became manageable from the admin panel.
Campaigns & popups
All critical tools for user activation — segmented campaigns, smart popups — integrated.
Onboarding
Customizable flows for the new user's first 7-14-30 days were ready.
Admin dashboard
Group-level posts, likes, popular content, and user reports were there from day one.
Notification management
Multilingual (TR/EN/RU) push notification system, targeted broadcasts, and scheduled delivery included.
Weeks instead of months.
Focus instead of technical debt.
What would have been hardest to build ourselves wasn't the technology itself — it was reinventing the operational infrastructure that connects all these pieces. Octo had already solved that for us.
We focused our energy on what truly mattered — Mamity's unique content strategy, critical partnerships like Atlas University Hospital, fine-tuning gamification mechanics for Turkish mothers, architecting our Apple IAP-compatible Coin economy, and growing brand deals.
If I had built it from scratch myself, I would have really struggled. Because all the core features were already ready on Octo, I was able to bring my dream product to life very quickly. For us, it was more of an acceleration platform than a development tool.
